Touch Disease iPhone 6

Symptoms

  • Flickering Bars
  • No Touch
  • Data Recovery

Apple Repair Alternatives

  • Out of warranty phone swap – $339.00
  • Apple multitouch recall – $149.00
  • Apple screen replacement only – $149.00
  • Three Day Turnaround

Touch Chips

  • iPhone 6 – Cumulus Digitizer Controller IC (u2401)
  • Meson Chip – No visual artifacts. No touch at all. DANGER! Easy to pull pad when removing. More technically challenging than the Cumulus chip to replace.

The problem is caused by oxidation. Reflow won’t fix oxidation.

Touch IC Complications – Symptoms of Too Much Heat

  • Grayed WiFi
  • Half dim backlight
  • No proximity sensor
  • Loss of camera function
  • Partial Touch
  • Full Short

Future Proof Shield does not appear to be a viable upgrade.
